Mike is the CEO and Founder of WeatherDataServices, Inc. of Wichita, Kansas. He founded the company in 1981 and sold it's assets to AccuWeather, Inc. in 2006. Mike is one of the rare people who can be both successful in the fields of business and science.

A Fellow of the American Meteorological Society, Mike has received the highest awards in his field for applied meteorology and corporate contributions to the science.

Mike has been a pioneer in the fields of storm warnings, aviation safety and public safety. He and his company have been credited with saving literally hundreds of lives and more than $100 million in property damage.

Mike's first book," WARNINGS: The True Story of How Science Tamed the Weather", was published in 2010 by Greenleaf Book Club. The book has received rave reviews because of it's gripping story of saving lives in everything from Category 5 hurricanes to F-5 tornados.
